Scheduling Surgery & Anesthesia

When you have decided to proceed with surgery, our staff will discuss the planned procedures in further detail, provide a cost analysis, and in addition, written preoperative and postoperative instruction, as well as ordering prescriptions. In addition, if appropriate, reservations will be made for the patient to stay overnight in our recovery care center at that time.

Surgical procedures performed in our facility do not require traditional general inhalation anesthesia or endotrachial anesthesia. On the contrary, we specialize in the performance of monitored intravenous sedation or "twilight" anesthesia. Advances in short-acting, but potent intravenous anesthetic medications combined with the skill and expertise of our anesthesia providers allows for virtually any procedure that we perform to be carried out more safely using this technique. The patients are fully monitored with electronic blood pressure monitoring, EKG, etc. just as in a hospital setting. Patients awaken from their procedure with no recollection of the procedure, except drifting off comfortably to sleep. In addition to a shorter recovery time from the anesthetic, there is less postoperative nausea, vomiting and other untoward effects associated with general anesthesia.
