Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping)
Rhinoplasty and septorhinoplasty are surgeries to reshape the nose and may be performed for both functional and esthetic improvement. Some of the common functional problems are obstructed breathing due to deviated septum or valve collapse, traumatic injuries, and congenital deformities such as cleft lip nose deformity. There are many esthetic reasons to perform rhinoplasty to reshape the nose as well. Because the nose is the most prominent feature of the face, a harmonious profile and shape of the nose and the tip are important. Dr. Putman performs both endonasal and external (open) rhinoplasty and has extensive knowledge and expertise in this procedure. He also teaches all aspects of rhinoplasty surgery to residents in training. Dr. Putman has recently coauthored a consumer’s guide to rhinoplasty entitled, Your Complete Guide to Nose Reshaping, by Addicus Books.
