Physician's Choice® skin care products have been designed to provide the most technically researched, results-oriented formulations available today. Biochemically compatible with human skin, the products contain a unique blend of alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), and nutrients in an aloe vera base. The Physician's Choice™ family of products are all natural with no animal testing. They are free of dyes, color additives, fragrances, comedogenic oils, waxes and other ingredients that are known to cause irritation or other sensitive reactions.

About PCA
PCA Skin Care products have been formulated to be as friendly to the skin as possible. PCA Skin is quality-minded and strives to produce technically researched skin care products that produce visible results. "All products are free of alcohol, fragrance, and witch hazel. Aloe Vera is used as a base for the entire product line along with antioxidant, free-radical fighting vitamins and alpha hydroxy acids.

Margaret Ancira, the president, states, "From the beginning, my concept was to formulate a skin care line totally diverse from the standard look good, smell good, do nothing cosmetic products that have been available to the consumer. I also felt that they contained ingredients that had the potential to provoke allergic or sensitive reactions. It took a year for our products to be formulated and manufactured, but in 1991 Physician's Choice of Arizona was born and we haven't had time to look back since."

Chirally Correct Formulations
PCA Skin also insures that each of its products are "chirally correct". Chirality is a chemistry term that is now being introduced to the cosmetic industry. Certain molecules have right and left "handedness" that are considered mirror images of each other without being superimposable. Some ingredients are a combination of both 'hands', while other products utilize one 'hand' or the other for different formulations. The shapes of these molecules as well as their 'handedness' will determine their action in the body.

An ingredient being 'chirally correct' indicates that the side of the molecule that is most appropriate and effective is being used in the formula. One of the most important points associated with chirality in the skin care and pharmaceutical industries is the fact that different components of the body have preferences for either right hand or left handed molecules. Interestingly, the less preferred 'hand' in a particular situation is referred to as 'inert', although it can actually be responsible for negative effects in the body.

Some PCA Skin Clinical Care Products have a printed date on the bottom of the bottle. Keep in mind that this is NOT an expiration date, but is the date the batch was made.

Cleansers:

pHaze1: Facial Wash - A refreshing skin-friendly gel cleanser that effectively removes makeup and environmental impurities while leaving the skin supple and pH balanced. 5% AHA, pH 6

pHaze1: Facial Wash for oily/problem skin - Created with a higher level of AHA's than pHaze 1 Facial Wash, this is an effective exfoliating and refreshing skin-friendly gentle gel cleanser that effectively removes makeup and environmental impurities. Formulated for oil-imbalanced skin. 7% AHA, pH 5

pHaze10: Dry Skin Relief Bar - Amild cleansing bar for all types of dry skin conditions particularly psoriasis and eczema. Use once daily.

pHaze31 BPO 5% Cleanser - A gentle and effective cleanser formulated with 5% benzoyl peroxide for antibacterial properties and a host of botanical extracts to clear, soothe and calm acne and breakout-prone skin.

pHaze41: Creamy Cleanser - This gentle hydrating cleanser is ideal for normal to dry skin to effectively remove dirt, debris and makeup without stripping skin of essential moisture. A nourishing blend of rose hip seed oil, aloe and amino acids infuses skin with antioxidant and cell-regenerating benefits for radiant, younger-looking skin.

Toners: (free of alcohol and witch hazel)

pHaze2 Smoothing Toner - A lactic and citric acid solution formulated to help refine pores and remove superficial dead skin cells, leaving the skin smooth and clear. This toner is most appropriate for normal to oily skin types

pHaze5 Nutrient Toner - a combination of vitamins, enzymes and lactic and citric acids provide added nutrients to the skin. This solution is designed for normal to dry, mature skin and those with sensitive, breakout-prone skin.

pHaze 23 A&C Synergy Serum - This advanced treatment serum effectively controls oil production, bacterial proliferation, and helps reduce discoloration resulting in a clear, even skin tone. Its active blend of L-ascorbic acid, retinol and four different natural brightening agents makes it most appropriate for normal to oily skin types, especially those with hyperpigmentation or prone to breakouts.

pHaze15+ C-Quench - For all-over vitamin C skin strengthening on face, neck, and chest. Helps to lighten, tighten and brighten the skin. Moisturizing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid provide this vitamin C serum with light moisturizing properties. Great for use on all skin types. 15% vitamin C, pH 3

pHaze16+ C-Strength 20% with 5% Vitamin E- A stable and effective vitamin C and E topical designed to brighten dull, resilient skin and minimize fine lines and wrinkles. Use day and night for maximum skin renewal.

pHaze6 Collagen Hydrator - A collagen-rich bleand of humectants formulated for maximum hydration. Appropriate for any skin type. Makes an excellent nighttime cream.

pHaze 6+ Hydrator Plus SPF 25 - A nourishing moisturizer formulated with aloe and vitamins A, C and E for normal, dry and mature skin types for daily broad spectrum UV protection and hydration. Offers additional emollience to dry skin during the winter season; also serves as a soothing moisturizer for those in dry climates. It will leave the skin with a healthy glow and dewy finish.

pHaze7 Protecting Hydrator SPF 25 - A non-oily moisturizer formulated for normal and oily skin types for daily broad spectrum UV protection and hydration. Gret for all skin types in hot weather and humid climates. Enhanced with vitamins B-5 and E, it will leave the skin hydrated with a matte finish.

pHaze17 Rebalance - This is a nighttime nourisher which incorporates ingredients that stimulate cell growth naturally. Utlizes GLA (gamma linoleic acid) from rare natural botanical (evening primrose and borage) which contain poly-unsaturated organic acids with a long history of safe and efective use. Especially recommended for skin that has been traumatized by overly aggressive products or treatments.

pHaze18 Clearskin - Formulated especially for blemish prone skin, this unique oil-free anti-bacterial hydrator reduces inflammation, promotes tissue healing and rebuilding, and fights free radicals.

pHaze11 Apres Peel Soothing Balm- A light gel/cream moisturizer with 0.5% hydrocortisone to soothe, calm and rehydrate the skin. Ideal for use post peel, post microdermabrasion or to calm any reddened or irritated area. This product is designed to use on an "as needed" basis. Not to be used as a regular evening moisturizer.

pHaze11+ Apres Peel Hydrating Balm - A soothing moisturizer with added hydrating, plumping and collagen building action of the phytohormones from chasteberry and soy isoflavones. Appropriate for all skin types.

pHaze 20 Silkcoat Balm - Specifically formulated with antioxidants, advanced botanicals and hydrolyzed silk to be the ultimate nighttime treatment for dry and/or mature skin or skin in harsh/cold climates. Also an excellent choice for post procedure skin soothing and repair.
